"Music Through The Ages" Reg Vardy Band & Local Youth Bands - 3rd November 2018
Six junior bands from around the North East will start work on this Suite for Band throughout September and October, then will come together to enjoy a workshop with an all star group of tutors from the Reg Vardy Band, then perform “Music Through The Ages” in the fabulous theatre at Ushaw.
A new movement has been commissioned especially for this performance to bring Ushaw into this local story, as part of the 450th Anniversary of it’s foundation in Douai, France in 1568.
Please come along and hear the young musicians tell this story of our northern heritage as we journey around our region, visiting the Roman Wall, Holy Island, Durham Cathedral, Whitworth Hall in Spennymoor, the railway museum at Shildon, before finishing up having fun at the “Angel of the North”.
For the second half of the concert the youngsters will join the audience to sit back and be thrilled by the brilliance of the “Reg Vardy Band”.
